Went to visit my sister and my four little nieces with my mother yesterday for the first time in a couple of months. They played me into the ground, y'all.

"Do you really have to go?" one little one asked me as we were saying our goodbyes.

I made a sad face and told her that we did.

"It's okay," she whispered in my ear, her little arms wrapped so tightly around my neck, "we love you even when you're gone."

First, it took me three freaking years to change my layout. Yes, I've had the same layout since I got my lj. BUT! Thanks to superwicked, that has all changed! Thank you, PIC, I LOVE IT!! It has polka dots, what's not to love?!?!

And then, (and yes, I know I'm the last person on earth to get it) I finally figured out that little brother of Starcrossed = little brother of True Blood. *epic facepalm*

Does it make me a very bad person that I think wanting Sam/Tommy is totally legit now?

So my sister has this new boyfriend. She had a date on Tuesday, so I went to the gym by myself. On Thursday our instructor was teasing her about it, but turned the tables on me when I let slip a little chuckle.

"Does she have a boyfriend?" he asked my sister. When my sister told him no, I didn't, he said he knew it. Seems he had me pegged the first day we walked in. Apparently I'm too finicky, too full of shit.

At first I was all like, yeah, yeah, laugh it up old man. Now I'm thinking maybe there's something to this. I mean, obviously he was right. I am full of shit. But I'm somehow giving off that vibe? What?! That's why no one will look at me twice? So, this begs the question... How do I NOT do that?! Oh poop.


Also, it seems the people who moved out across the street left their cat behind. On the one hand, I want to smash their heads in, cause WTF?! On the other, if I play my cards right, I might soon be the proud owner of a kitten! *hopes*

Been indulging in the most delightful Brad/Nate fic over at combat_jack the whole day and it's fucking fabulous. God, I love them so much it aches.

There's this thing starting again one of these days. kamikazeremix, oh, how you slay me! Nevermind that I promised myself no more challenges, I just don't know if I can do it. I've done, what, three remixes now? And I still don't think I really get it. Feels like I'm just not doing it right. The first one was a scene by scene rewrite with a POV shift, the second, basically the same. The last one I kinda felt like I got something working, but I just don't know. I probably will sign up again and fuck some poor unsuspecting author's work up completely. Again. Such a sucker for goddamn punishment. *hands*

Now I'm gonna pop in the first disc of my brand spanking new Band of Brothers and pretend that Monday isn't just a few hours away.
